The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, will deliver the Convocation Address on March 26, at the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, which completes its Golden Jubilee this year.

IIM-A, seen as the top management school in the country, had been established on December 11, 1961. Its Golden Jubilee celebrations commenced last year with a number of programs lined up. The celebrations are being capped with the presence of Dr Singh, a globally-admired economist and academic, who will deliver the 46th Annual Convocation Address as the chief guest.

Governor, CM to attend

The Gujarat Governor, Dr Kamla Beniwal, and the Chief Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, will also grace the occasion.

Apart from the Governing Board Chairman, Dr Vijaypat Singhania, IIM-A Director, Prof Samir Barua, his predecessors, alumni, faculty, present and former staff members and others will attend the function.

In its Golden Jubilee year, the IIM-A has decided to downsize its Governing Board from 25 to 15 members. It will also be empowered to appoint the Institute's Director.
