The Kerala state electricity regulator has rejected a demand by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) to extend power supply curbs beyond May 31.
The Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Authority has issued orders in this connection.
Following a review of the situation in the sector, it permitted the KSEB to persist with load-shedding and other supply restrictions until May 31 only.
The KSEB had demanded that it be allowed to continue with the restrictions beyond this period.
The regulator had in April allowed the KSEB to go in for cyclical load-shedding and other restrictions until May 31.
But it had also said that it would review the situation in mid-May to decide whether to allow these to continue into June.
