The Siva Sivani Group, which is celebrating its golden jubilee, is forging relationships with educational institutions globally. It has recently entered into an understanding with the IMS (Institute of Management Studies) Bhutan, for conducting training and development programmes.

Similarly an MoU has been signed with the Shinawatra University of Thailand for exchange of faculty, students and conducting training and short-term certificate programmes not just for both countries, but also jointly for others globally, said Ms Aarathy, President and Chief Executive of the Group.

Efforts are on to set up a School of Excellence in English, which could enable foreign students from the SAARC and Asean regions to improve their skills in the language, she told newspersons on the occasion of the launch of the golden jubilee year. In the next five years, we hope to establish linkages with at least one institute in each of these regions, she added.

The group plans to enter its diamond jubilee as a deemed to be university. Currently, it runs a school, management college, degree college etc. The Siva Sivani Institute of Management (SSIM) has an intake of 525 students in two year Post-Graduate courses.

The faculty is involved in training and consultancy activities. Over 100 training programmes have been conducted within the country and also in Bangkok in Thailand and Thimpu (Bhutan).

The former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Mr Korn Dabbaransi, will be the chief guest at the golden jubilee year convocation tomorrow.
