The Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Knowledge Xchange, a non-profit body formed for knowledge dissemination and policy advocacy, are jointly organising a function in the memory of late R.K. Talwar, a former Chairman of State Bank of India and IDBI.
The function is to be held in Chennai on Sunday, May 27.
Mr N. Vaghul, former Chairman of ICICI Bank, who has authored a book titled ‘R K Talwar – Values in Leadership’, and who had a close acquaintance with Talwar, will deliver the Talwar Memorial Lecture.
Mr R. Seshasayee, Executive Vice-Chairman, Ashok Leyland, will release the book. The function is to be presided over by Dr Surendra Dave, former Chairman, SEBI.
Mr V.A. George, Chairman, Knowledge Xchange, describes Talwar as “one of the greatest bankers India has ever seen” and who had proved in his time that “even while upholding values one could reach and occupy higher levels of corporate hierarchy’’.
