United Bank of India has flagged off the enrolment/issuance process of Unique Identification Number (UID), according to a bank release. Mr Bhaskar Sen, CMD, said on the occasion that as a Registrar under Aadhaar, the bank would provide the unique ID number to its existing 22 million customers as well as future customers by collecting biometric and demographic details as per UID norms.
The bank's commitment to achieve the goals of financial inclusion and issuance of UID numbers would go simultaneously, he said. Mr S.L. Bansal, Executive Director, said that bank would put its best efforts for issuance of maximum number of UID numbers to the masses, including its customers and staff members.
