In all, 87 per cent of the offer at Sale No: 21 of the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association was sold with the average price crashing to ` 78.80 a kg – the lowest since Dec 8, 2017. Homedale Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped not only the dust tea auctions but the entire CTC market when Badhusha Tea Company bought it for₹233 a kg. Two other grades followed at ₹208 and ₹206. Two grades of Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped the CTC Leaf auctions at ₹203 and₹201. In the orthodox tea market, Kodanad topped at ₹225 a kg followed by Nonsuch at ₹202.
