Cardamom prices drifted by Rs 16 to Rs 1,522 a kg in futures trading on Thursday as speculators reduced their positions, driven by fall in spot demand.
Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing regions further dampened the sentiment in cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, cardamom for January month fell by Rs 16 or 1.04 per cent to Rs 1,522 a kg, with a business turnover of two lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in February declined by Rs 16 or 1.01 per cent to Rs 1,560.50 a kg, with a business volume of two lots.
Marketmen said fall in demand in spot market against increased arrivals from Southern producing regions helped in pulling down futures prices.
