Domestic roasters offered good support to coffees from north-eastern States at the ICTA auction.
According to auctioneer J Thomas & Company, Coffee Board which offered Arabica Plantation A grown in north-eastern regions for sale at the auction fetched Rs 9,550 for 50-kg bag and Arabica Plantation B traded between Rs 8,700 and Rs 8,710.
At the auction, Robusta Parchment coffees from traditional areas received strong support from exporters. There was no enquiry from them for Arabica Plantation and Arabica Cherry coffees on sale.
Arabica grades
Domestic traders continued to be selective on Arabica coffees on offer, while Arabica Cherry and Robusta Cherry received good support from the domestic trade.
Arabica Plantation PB grade sold at Rs 10,550 for 50-kg bag, A grade price were lower by Rs 300 while C grade price were higher by Rs 100 compared to last week sale, B grade remained unsold.
Arabica Cherry PB and AA grade price were higher by Rs 50-150 when compared to last levels. AB grade sold at current price levels, C grade sold flat.
Robusta Parchment PB and C grade prices were higher by Rs 200, AB grade prices were higher by Rs 500, RKR prices were higher by Rs 300 when compared to last week. Robusta Cherry coffee prices were higher by Rs 50-150.
Arabica Plantation BBB received support at current price levels, Arabica Cherry BBB price were higher by Rs 50 when compared to last week. Robusta parchment BBB prices were higher by Rs 300 , Robusta Cherry BBB remained unsold as sellers price expectation were higher than the buyers interest.
