The Indian Institute of Spices Research (IISR) here is organising a ‘kisan mela' and agricultural expo from January 27-29. The event, styled ‘Karshika Sankethika Darshanam 2011', will showcase various field technologies for the benefit of the farming community. Around 16 research organisations such as the Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod; the Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Thirvananthapuram; the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Kochi; the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Kochi; the Vegetable and Fruits Promotion Council, Kerala; the Zoological Survey of India; and the National Seeds Corporation are expected to put up stalls exhibiting various technologies and machines developed by them.
