Prices of thoor dal, sugar and gram dal declined, while urad dal went up, but all other commodity prices remained unaltered at the wholesale foodgrains market in Chennai during the week under review.
Thoor dal opened the week at Rs 6,600, Rs 100 down from last week, and closed the week at the opening rate. Urad dal opened at the week at the previous week’s rate of Rs 6,000 and firmed up by Rs 200 on Wednesday to Rs 6,200.
Gram dal shed Rs 50 per quintal on Monday, but recovered on Tuesday. However, later it declined by Rs 100 per quintal to end the week at Rs 2,900 from Rs 3,000. On Wednesday, sugar prices eased by Rs 20 to Rs 2,780 from Rs 2,800.
Moong dal (6,800), wheat (1,900), maida (1,700) and sooji (1,900) prices remained unchanged.
