The 19th edition of Agri Intex, a trade fair organised by Codissia in association with the Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has been scheduled for July 12-15 at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore.
This may be the biggest agri-trade fair in South India, N Krishnaraj, Chairman, Agri Intex 2019. It will feature live demos of soil-less agriculture, sustainable farming practices and farm mechanisation, among other things.
Around 450 participants from various States have confirmed attendance, apart from delegates from the US, UK, Israel, China, Japan, Germany, Italy, Sweden and France.
TNAU would be putting up 22 stalls, said its Vice Chancellor N Kumar.
The university is proposing to conduct a quiz programme and showcase some of the technologies developed by the institution, which, the Vice Chancellor said “would go a long way towards curbing wastage of perishable farm produce.”
The organisers are expecting over 1.5 lakh footfalls during this four-day event.
TN Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development and Implementation of Special Programme S P Velumani is to be the Special Guest while the State Agriculture Minister R Doraikannu, the Chief Guest of the Fair.
