Extended gain in rupee and weak overseas futures kept the domestic edible oils markets bearish with limited activities. Stockists stayed away from bulk buys On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, imported palm oil and soya oil declined by ₹2 per 10 kg each. Groundnut oil lost ₹10 in line with drop in Saurashtra markets under the pressure of new arrivals.
Groundnut arrivals in Gondal-Rajkot mandi were about 6,700 bags and its prices were ₹710-980. At Rajkot, groundnut oil telia tin declined by ₹10 to ₹1,330 and loose (10 kg) was at ₹830 (₹840).
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 880 (890), soya ref. 738 (740), sunflower exp. ref. 770 (770), sunflower ref. 805 (805), rapeseed ref. 880 (880), rapeseed exp. ref. 850 (850), cottonseed ref. 795 (790) and palmolein 678 (680).
