The Gujarat government announced procurement of tur between January and April at the minimum support price of ₹5,675 per quintal.
As per the government’s first advance estimate for kharif 2018-19, tur or red gram production is for the season is estimated at 3,14,000 tonnes, which was 3,37,000 tonnes in kharif 2017-18.
As per the State government announcement, the procurement will begin from January 1 and January 31 through the i-PDS portal.
Procurement will also take place at 101 APMC procurement centres during January 15 to April 14. The procurement will take place through the Gujarat State Civil Supplies Corporation Limited.
So far, since the beginning of the groundnut procurement from November 15, the State government has procured 2.09 lakh tonnes worth ₹1,049 crore.
The State government has offered ₹110 bonus to the MSP of ₹4,890 per quintal for groundnut.
