Weak arrival and improved buying lifted chana marginally with chana (kanta) at ₹4,425-50 a quintal (₹4,400), while chana (desi) ruled at ₹4,150 and Kabuli Bitki at ₹5,100-5,300. Given weak domestic stock and improved demand for chana during the festival season ahead, bearish sentiment appears unlikely, said Prakash Vora, a local chana trader. Chana dal ruled steady with chana dal (average) being quoted at ₹5,050-5,150, chana dal (medium) ₹5,250-5,350, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹5,550-5,950. Bearish sentiment continued in dollar chana at ₹4,500-5,200 amid arrival of 2,000 bags in Indore mandis. In container, dollar chana (42/44 count) fetched ₹6,025-50; 44/46 count ₹5,825-50; 48/50 count ₹5,625-50, while 58/60 count was at ₹5,125-50 and 60/62 count ₹5,025-50 respectively.
