C-CAMP, AgriHub to create Indo-Brazil Agri Innovation Corridor

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), a bio-incubator and innovation hub, has signed an MoU with AgriHub, an initiative of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso in Brazil (FAMATO), to encourage and promote the best deep science innovations in the agri industry in Brazil and India.

The two centres intend to create an Indo-Brazil Agri Innovation Corridor that will foster links between both hubs and enhance collaboration in science-based entrepreneurship, research and businesses in the agri sector by leveraging upon each other’s ecosystems.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO and Director of C-CAMP, and Marcos da Rosa, Vice-President, Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the state of Mato Grosso.

The MoU will be one of the first initiatives undertaken by C-CAMP under its recently launched Agri-Innovation Centre and will bring to light global farmer issues and innovations, to address those issues.

Dr Saiyed, CEO and Director, C-CAMP said: “India and Brazil share many common values in terms of culture and economy. We are excited that we are working together in science and technology, that too in the agriculture sector, which is the backbone of both economies. Through this corridor, we hope to build agri innovation collaborations and take innovation to farmers in both countries.”

Marcos da Rosa, Vice-President, Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso said: “It’s an important moment for us in the Famato System and for the strengthening of the AgriHub project, to make this partnership an opportunity to share technologies and information that will benefit rural producers in both countries. We have been researching the farmers’ pains to find disruptive solutions and we believe this partnership can be a bridge to hit those solutions.”
