Shanmuga Sundaram, a 1997 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, formally assumed charge as Secretary of the Spices Board.
Sundaram is posted as Development Commissioner of Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) Special Economic Zone, Chennai, since August 2016. He also held additional charge of the Chairman of Rubber Board and Coffee Board, prior to this assignment.
