Sugar prices softened by Rs 10 per quintal in the national capital on Wednesday on heavy selling amid reduced off take.
Market analysts said increased selling by millers to clear their pending free sale sugar quota amid reduced offtake by stockist and bulk consumers, mainly pulled down the millgate prices.
In millgate section excluding duty section, sugar Kinnoni and Asmoli eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 2,910 and Rs 2,890 per quintal, respectively.
Sugar mawana, Dorala and titabi also slipped by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 2,850, Rs 2,835 and Rs 2,920 per quintal, respectively.
The following were today’s quotation in Rs per quintal.
Sugar ready M-30 3,000-3,125 and S-30 2,975-3,000.
Mill delivery M-30 2,800-2,950 and S-30 2,785-2,925.
Sugar mill gate prices (excluding duty): Kinonni 2,910, Asmoli 2,890, Mawana 2,850, Titabi 2,820, Thanabhavan 2,790, Budhana 2785 and Dorala 2,835.
