Spot sugar market opened with a steady trend. Prices on the Vashi market was flat at spot and naka level. Mill tender rates were also unchanged with routine activities. Heavy surplus carryover stocks of old season and eased demand after Diwali will keep market under cap. Freight rates were steady.
Arrivals were at 61-62 truck loads and local dispatches were also at same level. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,650-2,792 and M-grade ₹2,760-2,911. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,600-2,700 and M-grade ₹2,700-2,800.
