The rising trend witnessed in the recent weeks in the prices at the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association continued for Sale No: 7 as well when the average price rose to ₹97.21 a kg – the highest since April 21, 2017. It was some ₹2 more per kg over the previous week as well.

Homedale Estate’s Red Dust, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped not only the Dust tea auctions but the entire auction this week when TRP Tea and Commodities bought it for ₹277 a kg. This was the highest price of any tea, CTC or orthodox, from any factory, corporate or bought-leaf.

Homedale Estate’s Super Red Dust tea, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, followed at ₹268.

In the Leaf Tea auctions, Homedale Estate tea, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, topped at ₹265 followed by Vigneshwar Estate tea, auctioned by Paramount Tea Marketing at ₹205.

In the orthodox tea market, Nonsuch topped at ₹206 followed by Kodanad ₹202. All others got less than ₹200.
