A fresh western disturbance on its way in will bring back thunderstorms and rain for parts of northwest during the next two days.

A weather warning said thunder squalls with wind speed reaching 50 to 60 km/hr may rip through Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh.

ROUGH WEATHER

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned similar climes for east and northeast India as well during the period.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal and Orissa have been put on notice in this manner.

The causative western disturbance lay parked over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

It has also kicked up (induced) a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining northwest Rajasthan.

Rain or thundershowers may lash many places over Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until Sunday.

ANDAMANS WAITS

Rain or thunderstorms has been forecast for one or two places over plains of northwest India too. Day temperatures may fall by 2 to 4 deg Celsius in the region.

The IMD has warned that thunderstorm activity may last until Tuesday over parts of northwest India.

Towards the east and southeast, a cyclonic circulation continued to hover above the Andaman Sea, bidding its time to pilot in the southwest monsoon to the region.

Rain or thundershowers would break out at many places over Andaman and Nicobar islands during the next two days.

A number of foreign models are suggesting that the onset would happen around May 22, at least two days beyond the normal timeline.

TROUGH COMBO

Another cyclonic circulation hung over Bihar, which sent out a trough of lower pressure into south Tamil Nadu across Orissa and Andhra Pradesh.

Another north-south trough linked Assam with North Bay of Bengal. These two formations will effectively amplify weather over east and northeast India.

The IMD has forecast rain or thundershowers at many places over the Northeastern States.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to at one or two places over West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa and Chhattisgarh.
