A volume of 16.18 lakh kg has been catalogued for Sale No: 34 of Coonoor Tea Trade Association auction to be held on Thursday and Friday. This is as much as 1.25 lakh kg less than last week’s offer. As much as 14.82 lakh kg belongs to CTC variety and only 1.36 lakh kg, orthodox variety. Last week, there was no mentionable purchase for Pakistan.
“The revival of abrasion in the Indo-Pak border close to Independence Day celebrations resulted in exporters to Pakistan refraining from buying. Exporters took a ‘wait-and-watch’ approach,” an exporter told BusinessLine .
