“We are in the final stages of drafting the norms and expect to finalise them soon,’’ the Coal Minister, Mr Sri Prakash Jaiswal, said today.
However, he did not specify any time frame.
The Ministry is in the process of identifying new coal blocks, which would be offered to the industry through a competitive bidding process. Such a move would bring in transparency in resource allocation process, he said.
