Despite political uncertainty, frequent bandhs and a separate Telangana movement, Andhra Pradesh continues to attract investments. About 3 lakh crore investments are in the pipeline, and several business houses are keen to come in.
The State Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy told industry captains from the southern states that recently investments worth Rs 51,000 crore through 26 proposals were cleared by his Government.
In a frank interaction with the Southern Council member of the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), Mr Reddy assured them of full security, incentives and openness to discuss their concerns and needs. “Inspite of the uncertainties we continue to get good offers from industrial houses”, he said.
Responding to the concerns raised, Mr Reddy said “I would like to talk less than you on the separatist movement. However, I can assure you that all the political parties were united in that the State, especially Hyderabad should develop as favourite destination for industry”.
