The International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (icreate) on Thursday said it has signed an MoU with Technion, Israel, to mutually encourage and create the ecosystem of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.

icreate was launched by the Gujarat Chief Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, in September 2011 with a view to create an ecosystem which enables and nurtures the next generation’s entrepreneurial initiatives.

The centre, whose advisory board is headed by Infosys Chief Mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy, is an autonomous centre of excellence with its incubation centre being built on a 34 acres campus near Ahmedabad. It plans to work with students, aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, as well as MSMEs and high growth companies, according to an official release here.

Technion, Israel, is a global leader in applied research, technology transfer and commercialization and is a major force behind Israel's emergence as home to one of the biggest concentration of high-tech startup companies anywhere in the world.

icreate and Technion would cooperate in  faculty exchange, education and training, industry interaction, and jointly working on project in India and abroad.
