As the country witnesses a burgeoning air traffic, Delhi's IGI Airport has been handling the maximum number of flight movements daily followed by Mumbai's CST Airport.
While the airport here handled an average of 741 flights each day between April and December last year, Mumbai's CST Airport handled 695 flights, show official figures. The flights include international, domestic and those of the general aviation or private charters. Of the 741 flights, the IGI Airport handled 200 international ones and 386 domestic, while its Mumbai counterpart had 187 international and 473 domestic flight movements each day.
During the same period, the airports at Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Hyderabad respectively handled an average of 316, 304, 259 and 227 total flights on a daily basis.
The airports at Kochi and Ahmedabad handled 112 and 106 flights respectively, while Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram had an average of 86 and 70 flight movements, with Nagpur and Goa following closely with 66 each.
