Vistara, the new joint venture domestic airline promoted by Singapore Airlines and Tata Sons, carried their one-million passengers on Wednesday barely 11 months after taking to the skies.
The airline started operations on January 9 this year. It currently operates 311 weekly frequencies to 12 destinations within the country
Biplove Choudhary, who was the millionth customer of the airline, was booked to travel between Delhi and Mumbai in economy class but was upgraded to business class for this flight, the airline said in a statement.
TATA SIA Airlines Limited, known by the brand name Vistara, is a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited and Singapore Airlines Limited (SIA) with Tata Sons holding the majority stake of 51 per cent in the company and SIA holding the remaining 49 per cent.
