The Madhya Pradesh's Western Area Power Distribution Company has collected Rs 151 crore as fine after unearthing 2.44 lakh cases of power theft in the current financial year.
Out of the total collection, recovery of Rs 83.62 crore was made in two districts of Indore and Ujjain alone, where 1.30 lakh connections out of 7.14 lakh collections inspected by the utility were found to be illegal, an official release said.
