Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met the CEOs and officials from oil companies in a bid to encourage the exploration of hydrocarbons in the country.
An official statement said that the Prime Minister appreciated the suggestion made for a comprehensive energy policy. He stressed on the need to develop energy infrastructure and access to energy in Eastern India.
Participants strongly recommended the inclusion of gas and electricity in the GST framework, the statement added.
Rosneft, BP, Reliance, Saudi Aramco, Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch Shell, Vedanta, Wood MacKenzie, IHS Markit, Schlumberger, Halliburton, Xcoal, ONGC, IndianOil, GAIL, Petronet LNG, Oil India, HPCL, Delonex Energy, NIPFP, International Gas Union, World Bank, and International Energy Agency were the companies which took part at the meeting.
