In a new makeover, a police station here is doubling up as a library to lure book worms.
The formal inauguration of the library at the Janamaitri police station near Tripunithura will be held this evening by Home minister, Mr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Police station Cicrcle Inspector, Mr Biju K. Stephen, said this was the first time that a police station in the state had started a library in its premises.
Books ranging from astrology, astronomy will vie for space in the library which has a collection of over 6,000 books. The books have been contributed by various persons from a engineering college professor to a head load worker.
