The Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs has approved five rail link projects involving a total cost of over ₹8,000 crore at present prices and almost ₹10,000 crore at a five per cent escalation cost after the construction period of four-five years.
The projects include doubling of Pune-Miraj-Londa railway line project at an estimated cost of ₹3,627.47 crore and expected completion cost of ₹4,246.84 crore with five per cent escalation per annum. The length of the railway line will be 467 km.
The completion period of the project will be five years.
Doubling of lineAlso, the Surendranagar-Rajkot project will be doubled at an estimated cost of ₹1,002.39 crore with expected completion cost of ₹1,137.17 crore with five per cent escalation per annum.
The length of the railway line will be 116.17 km. The completion period of the project will be four years.
The CCEA approved doubling of Roza -Sitapur Cantt.- Burhwal Broad Gauge single line project at an estimated cost of ₹1,295.42 crore with expected completion cost of ₹1,486.46 crore with five per cent escalation per annum.
Third line projectThe length of the railway line will be 180.77 km and the completion period will be five years. It also approved the Vizianagaram and Titlagarh third line project at an estimated cost of ₹2,335.68 crore. The length of the railway line will be 264.6 km.
The completion period of the project will be five years. The third line is an alternative route to over-burdened existing line.
