The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure on Wednesday approved the development of six-laning of NH 8 between Ahmedabad and Vadodara and four-laning of NH 12 between Kota and Teendhar in Rajasthan.

The six-laning of 102.3 km between Ahmedabad-Vadodara under the NHDP Phase V will be done on the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis in BOT (toll) mode of delivery, said a statement. The project cost is estimated at Rs 2,537.76 crore and the concession period is 25 years including the construction period of 36 months.

The project will cover the districts of Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand and Vadodara in Gujarat. The four-laning of 88.09 km between Kota and Teendhar is being done under the NHDP Phase III phase on DBFOT basis in BOT mode of delivery. The total project cost is estimated at Rs 580.79 crore under DBFOT pattern. The concession period is 25 years including construction period of 30 months.

The Union Cabinet which met on Wednesday also approved the Comprehensive Mission Document of the National Water Mission, one of the eight National Missions which form the core of the National Action Plan for Climate Change.
