Jammu & Kashmir has decided to set up an Information technology Park in the industrial Estate in Budgam district to boost IT sector in the State.
“An Information Technology Park would be set up in the industrial Estate, Ompora, Budgam (Kashmir) to boost IT sector in the State,” Minister for Information Technology, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Mr Syed Aga Ruhullah Mehdi, said.
The Minister said that the government has proposed to set up IT parks in several parts to boost IT activities in the State.
He said the move will go a long way in early implementation of e-governance in the State.
Every effort is being made to expand the ambit of IT, the Minister said, highlighting the need to take it to the remote areas for more benefits.
He said a joint inspection of the proposed sites, including Jammu and Samba, would be conducted to ensure early commencement of work on the projects.
He said the projects, once completed, would not only help in promoting IT sector in the State, but also generate employment for the youth.
