The Tirupur Exporters’ Association (TEA) has welcomed the formation of a skill development society announced in the interim budget for 2011-12 that would meet the needs of the industries.
In a statement Mr.A.Sakthivel, President, TEA, said the announcement made by Prof. K. Anbazhagan, Minister of Finance, Government of Tamil Nadu, in the interim budget for 2011-12 on Feb 5 making an allocation
of Rs.1,525 crore for tax concession for promotion of industries, and also formation of a skill development society to provide employable skills training to the educated unemployed youth as a part of state skill development mission would fulfill the requirement of all industries.
He said funds allocation for development of roads would enable faster transportation of goods. The plan to reduce transmission and
distribution losses in power supply to less than 10 per cent by 2013
under the restructured accelerated power development programme also was laudable. Eom/ryn/15.20 hrs
