Claiming that theft of minerals has been checked to a large extent, the Orissa Government said it would soon formulate a mineral policy considering different aspects associated with mining activities, the State Minister for Steel and Mines, Mr Raghunath Mohanty, said while replying to the budgetary demand of his department on Wednesday night.
“We have taken steps to formulate a better mineral policy for the state. The draft policy of the state mineral policy will be available soon,” he said.
Rejecting opposition demand of a CBI probe into the much-hyped mining scam, the Minister said the State anti-corruption vigilance wing had been doing good job in the matter.
