A total of 14.13 lakh LPG connections have been released to women of below poverty line families under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said on Friday.
The scheme is currently under operation in 487 districts of 17 states, an official statement from the Ministry said.
The Petroleum Ministry also warned consumers against a number of fake websites which have come up after the launch of the Ujjwala scheme.
“The official website of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is www.pmujjwalayojana.com . General public and other stakeholders are requested to consult only the official website for any information with regard to the scheme,” the statement added.
