The Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr B.S. Yeddyurappa, who is in the eye of a political storm over allegations of corruption and nepotism, on Sunday declared assets that include 18.23 acres of agricultural land in his native Shikaripura, 2.5 kg of gold, 76 kg of silver and about Rs 33.4 lakh in bank deposits.

The declaration of assets and liabilities were made to the BJP's national President, Mr Nitin Gadkari, and copies of which were released here.

Mr Yeddyurappa owns four non-agricultural properties that include his house built on a 50x80-foot plot in RMV II stage, Bangalore, besides 9.12 acres of agricultural land converted for industrial purposes in Shikaripura.

Household goods, furniture and electronic items were valued at around Rs 10.4 lakh. No movable assets are listed as he has sold a Contessa car and a Scorpio.

The agricultural land in Shikaripura is spread across four parcels of 4.01, 4.16, 5.04 and 5.02 acres. While 4.01 and 4.16 acres were acquired by him through the Tribunal in December 1981 and February 1982, 5.04 acres were acquired in December 2005 as the legal heir of his late wife, Mythradevi.

The non-agricultural properties include a residential building in his home town Shikaripura, which was transferred to him after his wife's death; and 9.12 acres of agricultural land at Shiralakoppa in Shikaripura, which was purchased in January 2007 and converted for industrial purpose in December 2008.

Investments in stocks include 70 shares in Khaitan purchased in November 1984; 100 shares each of Zenith Infotech Ltd and Urban Bank, Shikaripura.

Bank deposits include Rs 17.92 lakh in Apex Bank, Vidhana Soudha Branch, that has been attributed to his salary, perks and reimbursements as Chief Minister; Rs 5.24 lakh in Corporation Bank, Sadashivanagar branch, from sale of cars; besides Rs 2.19 lakh in Canara Bank, Shikaripura, accrued from agricultural income and rent receipts.
