Amitabh Bachchan-Aamir Khan starrer Thugs of Hindostan witnessed a sharp dip in box office collections on Friday after a big bang opening.
According to estimates by trade analysts, the Diwali release, which has been panned by critics, earned about Rs 29.25 crore on Friday, accumulating a total of Rs 81.50 crore for the first two days at the domestic box office.
In a tweet, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “And the decline begins… Thugs of Hindostan slips on Day 2, facing a fall during Diwali holidays…Mass belt/ single screens are holding better but cracks are already showing at plexes..Day 3 and Day 4 are extremely crucial”
On Thursday, Thugs of Hindostan had set a new record for the highest first day collection for a Hindi movie with Rs 52.25 crore at the domestic box office.
The film has been released across 5000 screens in India in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and has also been released in IMAX and 4DX formats.
