A home-grown start-up has launched a chat app called Namasthe Chat that comes with an interesting feature that makes the messages disappear soon after the receiver reads it. The app lets users create groups with up to 5,000 members.
“The Vapor chat feature kills the message moments after it’s read,” K Pratap, Managing Director of Pratik Ventures that is promoting the start-up, told BusinessLine .
Namaste Online has launched the Made-in-India chat on the eve of Independence Day. The firm, which runs a news portal, has been working on the chat app for the last few months.
A team of 50 developers has worked on building the chat app over the last one year. “We are launching the Android version of the app now. We will come out with an iOS (Apple mobile Operating System) version in 45 days,” he said.
“Users prefer to use the traditional mode of messaging. They can switch to the Vapor option that deletes the messages. It also offers the ‘like’ and ‘dislike’ option that lets users convey their feelings,” he said. Users can also conduct polls and events using the platform.
