Led by Reliance Infrastructure, all the Anil Ambani Group stocks, on Wednesday fell sharply by up to 25.14 per cent on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), amid a bearish broader market sentiment.
Reliance Infrastructure, the top loser among the bluechip stocks till late afternoon-session, plummeted by up to 25.14 per cent on the BSE, touching its 52-week low of Rs 492.85.
Another heavyweight, Reliance Communications, too slumped by 17.97 per cent to a record low of Rs 90.80.
According to market observers, the slump in these stocks is due to panic-selling by the edgy investors.
Further, Reliance Capital, Reliance MediaWorks, Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd and Reliance Power too were trading under pressure, falling 14.88 per cent, 17.92 per cent, 9.62 per cent and 10.18 per cent, respectively on the bourse.
Meanwhile, the Sensex closed lower at 17,592.77, down by 182.93 points.
