Barley prices fell by Rs 8.60 to Rs 1,126 per quintal at the futures trading today as traders preferred to offload their holdings on the back of commencement of harvesting of new crop.
Market analysts said increased supplies following harvesting of crops mainly put pressure on the futures prices here.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley prices for delivery in April at Jaipur-Rajasthan eased by Rs 8.60 or 0.76 per cent to Rs 1,126 per quintal with an open interest of 3,950 lots.
Similarly, May contract also eased by Rs 2.40 or 0.21 per cent to Rs 1,148 per quintal with an open interest of 3,510 lots.
