Cardamom prices rose by Rs 7.50 to Rs 797.80 per kg at the futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by tight supplies at the spot market amid rising demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July rose by Rs 7.50 or 0.95 per cent to Rs 797.80 per kg with a business turnover of 207 lots. Similarly, June contract gained Rs 4.40 or 0.58 per cent to Rs 765.50 per kg in 370 lots.
Traders said tight stocks positions at the spot market on restricted supplies against pick-up in demand mainly pushed up cardamom prices at the futures market.
