Castorseed prices jumped up further by Rs 52 to Rs 4,962 per quintal at the futures trade today following sustained buying by traders guided by a firming trend in the spot markets.
Market analysts said renewed buying by traders against restricted supply in the domestic markets mainly kept the castorseed futures prices higher.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed prices for delivery in May advanced by Rs 52 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 4,962 per quintal with an open interest of 3,600 lots.
Castorseed futures prices for delivery in April too gained Rs 42.50 or 0.86 per cent to Rs 4,995 per quintal with a business volume of 9,460 lots.
