Chana prices rose by Rs 12 to Rs 2,642 per quintal at the futures trade today as traders enlarged their positions on hopes of a rise in demand during the rainy season.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July rose by Rs 12 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 2,642 per quintal with an open interest of 230,640 lots. Similarly, June contract gained Rs 11 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 2,563 per quintal in 84,330 lots.
Market analysts said apart from less arrivals from the producing belts, increased buying by traders mainly pushed up chana futures prices.
