Copper futures prices fell marginally by 0.13 per cent today, extending yesterday’s losses as speculators reduced their positions on the back of weakening global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June eased by 55 paise or 0.13 per cent to Rs 437.75 a kg, with a business volume of 260 lots. It had ended 1.4 per cent lower at Rs 438.30 a kg in the previous session.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in April shed 40 paise or 0.09 per cent to Rs 432.20 a kg, with a trade volume of 5,402 lots.
Market analysts said offloading by speculators, triggered by a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange and Shanghai, mainly led to the decline in prices here.
