Crude oil prices declined by Rs 8 to Rs 4,823 a barrel in futures trade today, tracking a weakening global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in May declined by Rs 8 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 4,823 a barrel, with business volume of 50 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June lost Rs 5 or 0.14 per cent to Rs 4,878 a barrel, with an open interest of three lots.
Market analysts attributed the fall in crude oil futures prices to a weakening global trend.
Meanwhile, New York’s main contract, crude for delivery in May dipped 17 cents to $106.95 a barrel.
