Gur prices end quiet in thin trade

Gur (Jaggery) closed on a quiet note in the national capital on Saturday as its prices, after hovering around previous levels on alternate small bouts of trading, settled at the previous levels.

Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also ended flat in thin trade. Marketmen said restricted supply and reduced offtake, mainly kept gur prices unaltered.

The following are today’s quotations a quintal: Chakku Rs 3,000-3,100, pedi Rs 3,300-3,400, dhayya Rs 3,400-3,500, and shakkar Rs 3,400-3,500.

Muzaffarnagar: Raskat Rs 2,450-2,500, chakku Rs 2,650-2,750 and khurpa NT (no trading).

Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,150-3,200 and dhayya N/A.
