Maize prices declined by Rs 10 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market on sluggish demand against adequate stocks.

However, rice basmati common showed some strength on fresh demand. Traders said sluggish demand against adequate stocks position led to the fall in maize prices.

In the national capital, maize declined by Rs 10 to Rs 1,380—1,390 per quintal. On the other hand, rice basmati common quality traded Rs 50 higher at Rs 5,650—5,750 per quintal.
