Black pepper prices rose Rs 300 per quintal in the national capital today on fresh buying by stockists and exporters amid low stocks due to restricted arrivals from the producing belts.
Black pepper prices rose Rs 300 to conclude at Rs 28,200-28,500 per quintal.
Traders said the sentiment turned better following rising domestic and export demand against low stocks in tandem with a firming trend at the futures market, which in turn helped pepper prices to trade higher at the wholesale kirana market here.
Following are the quotations in Rs per quintal:
Ajwain 17,500-23,000, black pepper common 28,200-28,500, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,015 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,120-1,270.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 850-900, cardamom (colour robin) 900-920, cardamom bold 910-920, cardamom extra (bold) 1,070-1,100 and cloves (kg) 500-550.
