Spot rubber closed firm on Thursday. The market opened steady but improved later on covering purchases though there were no fresh enquiries from the tyre sector.
Sheet rubber increased to Rs.125.50 (125.00) per kg according to traders. The grade inched up to Rs. 123.50 (123.00) and Rs.120.50 (120.00) per kg respectively as quoted by the Rubber Board and dealers.
The October futures slipped to Rs.121.50 (121.73), November to Rs.121.50 (121.75), December to Rs.121.50 (121.98) and January to Rs.122.00 (122.91) per kg on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
RSS 3 (spot) dropped to Rs. 101.20 (101.31) per kg at Bangkok. The September futures weakened to ¥ 179.0 (Rs.100.27) from ¥ 179.7 per kg during the day session and then to ¥ 178.5 (Rs.99.99) per kg in the night session on Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM).
