Pepper prices continued to decline following selling pressure on Tuesday. With activities being limited, May and June contracts on both the national and regional exchanges ruled steady. A bearish sentiment prevailed in the market following reports of imports via several ports, market sources told Business Line. On the terminal market, 35 tonnes were traded at ₹710-725 a kg. There were no activities on the NMCE. However, on the IPSTA platform May series remained unchanged at ₹70,292 while June was up by ₹1,000 to ₹71,292 a quintal. Spot prices declined by ₹500 to ₹71,000 (ungarbled) and ₹73,000 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were at $12,400 c&f for Europe and $12,650 a tonne c&f for the US.
